As every year, we picked an organisation that we would like to support on this International Women’s day.
Why ‘Die Haarspender’?
Recently Maddie from DariaDaria spoke about the non-profit organisation @verein_die_haarspender to whom she is planning to donate her hair to in a couple of months, so that it can be turned into a perfect looking FREE wig for children that suffer from hair loss due to chemotherapy treatment, alopecia or other diseases resulting in hair loss.
After seeing that We are Flowergirls pledged to donate a part of their profit to ‘Die Haarspender’, we loved the idea and decided to join the inspiring Maddie, Cecilia and Mathias.
Furthermore, as you know Sabinna is from Vienna and believes it’s wonderful to be able to support local organisations and to give back to the community.
Where does the money go to?
‘Die Haarspender’ needs donated hair as well as money donations as the wig making process costs about 360€ per wig. That’s why they need the money donations for the chance to create FREE wigs for children that really need them, but whose families can’t afford them.
Both photos are courtesy of Verein – Die Haarspender. The first image shows donated hair for 25 wigs and in the second image portraits, 3 years old Lujza. She lost her hair as a result of chemotherapy treatment and recently received her beautiful customised real hair wig from Verein – Die Haarspender. The work that Verein – Die Haarspender does is incredible and so important to these little heroes and their families.
